All Gujarat Ministers Resign: In a significant political reset in Gujarat, all ministers in the Gujarat government except Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel have resigned. It is to be noted here that a major cabinet reshuffle is scheduled for Friday. Notably, CM Bhupendra Patel is the only member of the current cabinet left in the office.

The decision came after a meeting was conducted at the chief minister’s residence on Thursday. BJP national general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal and Chief Minister Patel were present in the meeting. As per the reports, Bansal and Patel interacted with each minister personally, and informed them about the central leadership’s decision before asking their resignations.

10 new ministers likely in cabinet expansion

Gujarat is expected to get around 10 new ministers in cabinet expansion, a senior BJP leader told PTI. He further added that nearly half of the present ministers may be replaced.

As per reports ministers including Mukesh Patel, Dharmendrasinh, Rishikesh Patel, and Bhupendrasinh Chudasama are expected to to retain their posts. Meanwhile, Raghavji Patel (Agriculture), Kunvarji Bavaliya (Water Supply), Kanubhai Desai (Finance), and Murubhai Bera (Tourism) could be replaced.

It is worthy to be mentioned here that the present Gujarat cabinet comprises 17 ministers, including CM Patel.

Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and national president JP Nadda, are expected to be present at the ceremony. All BJP MLAs are also expected to be present in Gandhinagar by Thursday.

Gujarat has a 182-member assembly

It is to be noted here that Gujarat has a 182-member assembly. However, earlier this month MoS in the Gujarat government, Jagdish Vishwakarma, was appointed the new president of BJP's state unit by replacing Union minister CR Paatil.
